This site is about Shortwave Radio Listening by wannabee Hams

I started with a simple crystal set, and then increased knowledge complexity and power in steps.

Later on I picked up a Zenith TransOceanic, it was given to me as I recall from a friend.

I still have one today, picked up from an antique store for 50 dollars.

It needs some attention, perhaps a few capacitors in the ac to dc circuits, since there is a 60 hz buzz in the audio.

The radio I use now is a Radio Shack All Band Receiver.

This is all notion based at the moment, as I have not investigated as to whether one might get voltage to capacitance conversion elements, which would be useful for the early phases of my experimentation.
